NIGHTWISH, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, LACUNA COIL Confirmed For 'The Cave' Soundtrack

February 7, 2005

NIGHTWISH's "Nemo" (from the group's "Once" release) will be the lead single from the upcoming film "The Cave" (and track No. 2 on its accompanying soundtrack). The film opens April 8 in about 2,500 theaters, and the soundtrack comes out a couple weeks earlier on March 22 (Lakeshore Records).

Should you see the movie, you will hear "Nemo" over the end credits...and should you see a commercial spot for this movie, you just might be hearing the song, too.

As for the soundtrack, b-sides you have probably yet to hear from ILL NINO and KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will be on the release. The tentative track listing for the soundtrack is as follows:

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE - "Irreversal"
NIGHTWISH - "Nemo"
ATREYU
ILL NINO - "I'll Find The Way"
SHADOWS FALL
LACUNA COIL
OPEN HAND
BLEEDING THROUGH
DIECAST
STRAPPING YOUNG LAD
BURY YOUR DEAD
IT DIES TODAY
MASTODON
VEXT
BURNING BRIDES
EGYPT CENTRAL
DEVILINSIDE
CANDIRIA

On the film front, the overview is as is as follows: "Deep in the Romanian forest, a team of scientists stumbles upon the ruins of a 13th century Abbey. On further inspection, they make a startling discovery — the Abbey is built over the entrance to a giant underground cave system. Local biologists believe the cave could be home to an undiscovered eco-system, so they hire a group of American cave-explorers to help them investigate its depths.

"Jack (Cole Hauser) and his brother Tyler (Eddie Cibrian) are thrill-seeking professional cave explorers who run a team of the top divers in the world. They arrive in Romania with all the latest equipment, including a new type of scuba tank allowing a diver to remain submerged for up to 24 hours. The crack unit, which also includes Charlie (Piper Perabo) and Buchanan (Morris Chestnut),immediately begins their exploration. But what they find deep inside the caves is not just a new eco-system, but an entirely new species altogether..."
